Senior Advisor/Project Coordinator Jeroen Aarssen has a degree in applied linguistics at the University of Tilburg and Turcology at the University of Utrecht. Between 1990 and 2001 he worked as a researcher at Babylon, Centre for Studies of the multicultural society at the University of Tilburg. He wrote his Ph.D. thesis in 1996 on a study of the bilingual development of Turkish children in the Netherlands. Since 2001 he has been working, first as project coordinator and later on as senior project coordinator, at Sardes, where he is involved in projects on (second) language acquisition and multilingualism, language learning and language and education. He also developed training modules and provided training to various target groups. He has been project manager in international projects in several countries (lately mainly in Turkey) on topics such as special education and early childhood education, many of them in cooperation with local ministries and schools.
