This country report was commissioned by the Dutch Ministry of Education, at the request of the Eurydice information network on education in Europe. The report is structured along the lines of the Eurydice questionnaire, which was sent to all the countries in the survey in order to ensure comparability of information. Information from the report has been included in the Eurydice survey report Integrating Immigrant Children into Schools in Europe.
The report describes:
- the general national context surrounding immigration in the Netherlands
- measures of school based support to immigrant children and their families
- measures to support schools
- the intercultural approach in educational curricula
- evaluation, debates and forthcoming reforms
